This Balkan restaurant first opened on Barracks Row in downtown DC steps from the Capitol. With so many rave reviews and a decade of tasty meals, the owners decided to open an Arlington location to attract a new crowd. The Happy Hour at Ambar  is one of the best around featuring $5 cocktails and bar bites at a fraction of the cost. Try the Balkan Kebab, Drunken Mussels, or the Ajvar (roasted red pepper and eggplant spread) at this hotspot in Clarendon. 

Cava Mezze 

A mediterranean favorite, you can dine out at Cava Mezze without any guilt. Small plates featuring fresh, flavorful meats and veggies make it a great spot to go with a group. Their $35 brunch is one of the best in the area and you can enjoy $0.25 mimosas as part of the Brunch Mania special. A la carte menu items are also an option. If you choose to go this route, save room for the french toast or gyro hash!
