Brunching in Arlington

brunch in va

Prior to the pandemic, brunch was quite a scene in Arlington. Within a couple blocks of Lyon Place, there are dozens of delicious breakfast and lunch spots for the hungry crowds. Now that things have shifted a bit, a number of the usual go-to brunch places have had to adjust their offerings a bit and prioritize outdoor seating, to-go meals, and online orders. Luckily, many restaurants have adapted quickly!

Here are a few of the best brunch options in Clarendon — within walking distance of Lyon Place apartments!

Circa

Located on the ground floor of the Lyon Place property, Circa is currently operating at 50% capacity. With a large outdoor patio, this restaurant is able to serve a number of patrons both inside and out. For those who prefer their brunch to-go, you can place online orders and pick up your food onsite. Order favorites like the almond granola french toast, southern chicken benedict or the huevos rancheros. Brunch might look a little different these days, but with the various online ordering and onsite dining options, you can still enjoy your comfort food on a Sunday morning.

Northside Social

This cute local coffee shop and wine bar has always had a large outdoor dining area. This has never been more helpful than during the coronavirus pandemic. With their online ordering system, diners can place an order on the app ahead of time and show up a few minutes later to collect their meal. While the coffees and pastries make for a tasty brunch treat any day of the week, their breakfast sandwiches and warm dishes are heartier and delicious! You can order onsite too, but you may have to wait in a short line to place your order. Snag a seat at one of the picnic tables outside or stand up at the outdoor bar ledge set up around back.

Liberty Tavern

Currently, Liberty Tavern, a local favorite, is offering carry-out, delivery, and in-house dining. They max out the dining area (indoors and outdoors) at 50% capacity so you can enjoy your meal safely without worrying about crowds. Servers are all masked up and patrons are required to wear a mask while seated (though they can be removed while eating). For those who crave their weekly specials, you can order to-go and bring home a meal for the whole family. Brunch is offered on Saturdays and Sundays and you can make reservations in advance to guarantee a table where you want it.

Arlington is known for having tons of great brunch spots and luckily many of them are still open during these trying times. Support one of your neighborhood restaurants this weekend by dining outdoors or picking up brunch to go!
