3 Spots in Clarendon for Quarantine Comfort Food

VA Restaurant Pho

It’s mid-April and the stay at home orders have been in place in Northern Virginia for over a month now. While some essential workers are still going into work, many of us have been told to stay home and avoid any non-essential activities. It’s been emotionally tough to avoid all socializing the last few weeks and comfort food has been one way of getting through the days. You can pick up snack food at the Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods, but when you’re craving a classic dish, these neighborhood restaurants offer great quarantine comfort foods!

Circa

Located on the ground floor of the Lyon Place apartments, Circa is a local favorite. The menu actually boasts a number of healthful dishes, but during a quarantine, comfort food like burgers or anything from the fryer somehow feels more enticing. The full menu is available for pickup orders and they are currently offering 3-course meals for $25. You get to pick your salad and dessert and then select from a number of Circa’s most popular entrees. The fried chicken sandwich and the classic burger make for excellent comfort food choices during this Coronavirus quarantine.

Four Sisters

For a slightly more adventurous approach to comfort food, neighborhood favorite Four Sisters offers fresh and tasty Vietnamese food for takeout or delivery. You can’t go wrong with their Bahn Mi sandwiches (get a smear of pate on yours for an extra satisfying richness) or opt for the classic Pho. When you’re stuck inside with dreary weather, the hot noodle soup really hits the spot.

The Cheesecake Factory

When it comes time for dessert, many of us have been spending the time at home baking our own sweets and treats, but the Cheesecake Factory really can’t be beat. Their classic cheesecake is a creamy yet fluffy wedge of heaven and their slightly more elaborate cakes are even better. Try the white chocolate raspberry, the Snickers to satisfy any sweet tooth, or Oreo for a taste of nostalgia. It may not be the healthiest choice, but it’s a delicious way to end another week in quarantine.

It’s important for all of us to do our part and follow the stay-at-home orders in place, but we can still enjoy some tasty meals thanks to the tireless restaurant workers who are helping keep residents happy and healthy. Stop by one of these neighborhood restaurants to pick up some comfort food as we wait this out.
