While St. Patrick’s Day may look a little different this year, that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to celebrate! There is still plenty to do, whether you want to venture out to an Irish bar with friends or have a cozy day in with Irish comfort foods. Here is your guide to a Covid-friendly St. Patrick’s Day in Arlington.

Green Eggs in Bed

For those who would like to celebrate from the safety and comfort of their own home, nearby grocery stores Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods have you covered. If you’re not in the mood to cook, head on down to Trader Joe’s to browse their Irish-themed products that are either prepared or just require some reheating. These products range from Irish Bangers sausages to Blarney Scone Irish Soda Bread.

If you’re in the mood to cook, head over to Whole Foods to gather all the ingredients for any of these St. Patty’s themed recipes. No matter what you plan to cook up, don’t forget to pair it with any of these Irish beers.

Irish Pub Food Pick Up

O’Sullivans

Another great way to celebrate is to pick up food from one of Arlington’s local Irish bars. O’Sullivan’s family owned and operated pub epitomizes what a traditional Irish bar should be with their Irish staff and range of Irish foods and Drinks. You can order from the online menu for pickup or get it delivered through Ubereats, Grubhub, or DoorDash.

Ireland’s Four Courts

Ireland’s Four Courts is also a great option to pick up food in the Clarendon neighborhood or have a socially-distanced meal, as they combine traditional Irish fare with American cuisine and offer proper pints in a cozy pub atmosphere. You can either stop by and order at the pub, or look up the menu here and call 703-525-3600 to place your order.

Attend an Event in Arlington

If you’re in the mood to hit the town, many of the local bars will be open and there are also a few St. Paddy’s Day events that will be happening around Arlington. Arlington Bar and Grill will be hosting a St. Paddy’s Pub Crawl on Saturday March 13, and you can reserve your spot ahead of time. The Lost Rhino Brewing Company will also be hosting a St. Patrick’s Day Celebration starting bright and early with Kegs & Eggs, live music from 2-5pm, food specials, and swag and giveaways.

Just because times are different doesn’t mean you have to limit your St Patrick’s Day celebrations! Whether you hit an Irish pub or make soda bread in your kitchen, Arlington has you covered to make the most of the holiday.
