The Best Ice Cream in Arlington
This summer has been a scorcher so far and the heat shows little signs of stopping. Grabbing an old fashioned ice cream cone after dinner on a hot summer night is a favorite activity for Arlington residents and luckily, members of the Lyon Place community have a number of spots to choose from not far from our front door. Here are a few of the best ice cream spots in Arlington.
Nicecream
Address: 2831 Clarendon Blvd, Arlington, VA 22201
For silky smooth ice cream that’s frozen on the spot using an innovative liquid nitrogen technique, head to Nicecream in the Market Common in Clarendon. Tucked along the main drag, this ice cream is a great after dinner treat. The location is small, but there are a few indoor and outdoor tables for small groups if you want to sit with your sweet treats, or you can meander through the neighborhood with your cone.
Ice Cream Jubilee
Address: 4238 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA 22203
This local favorite first opened across the river in Washington, DC before expanding to the Commonwealth of Virginia. Known for their rotation of quirky, all-natural flavors, diners can try seasonal flavors like blackberry chamomile cheesecake and lemon muffin top, or stick with the classics like fresh minty chip. Ice Cream Jubilee is located in the Ballston neighborhood (in addition to a spot in Tysons Galleria), which makes it a quick trip from Lyon Place by car or metro.
Toby’s Ice Cream and Coffee
Address: 5849 A Washington Blvd, Arlington, VA 22205
Toby’s is your quintessential neighborhood ice cream store. They’ve got loads of tasty flavors including cinnamon, coffee oreo, espresso chip, banana, s’mores, mint chocolate chip and more! The shop is a bit small so plan to take your cones to go. Luckily, the prices here are great and the service is quick and friendly. It’s a great spot for dessert!
Virginia friends, it’s hot out there, and nothing cools you down quite like a tasty ice cream treat. Grab a frosty cone after work one evening or treat yourself to a sweet treat on the weekends!
